Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the sale and production of mercury containing light bulbs.

Highlights:

• Alleges that LEDs are preferable to fluorescent bulbs due to energy efficiency (Sec. 1). 

• Alleges that fluorescent bulbs contain mercury which is a toxic pollutant (Sec. 1). 

• Alleges that LED’s are generally preferable and will save consumer dollars (Sec. 1). 

• Prohibits the sale of new fluorescent lamps in the state of Hawaii (Sec. 1). 

• Exempts the following products from prohibition (Sec. 1):
