Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill to require that hospitals provide certain patients two doses of opioid overdose reversal medication, popularly known as Narcan.

Highlights:

  • Requires that on the release of a patient that they are provided 2 doses of an opioid overdose reversal medication and the necessary medical supplies to administer the medication if a patient has been treated for an opioid use disorder and a patient is released to an unlicensed setting  (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that the same will apply if a patient is discharged from a long term care facility (Sec. 3).
