Vote to pass a bill that amends Delaware statutes concerning the sterile needle and syringe Exchange program.

Highlights:

• Defines a participant as an injection drug user who obtains a sterile needle and syringe unit under the Sterile Needle and Syringe Service Program (Sec. 2).

• Requires that the Director of the State Division of Public Health maintain a sterile needle and syringe service program and that the program be administered by the Director or designees (Sec. 3).

• Authorizes the Director to designate private providers of service to operate the program (Sec. 3).

• Requires that the program provide needles and syringes on an as-need basis (Sec. 4).

• Authorizes a participant to return used needles and syringes at any program site if more than 1 site is available (Sec. 4).
