Title: Requires the Department of the Environment Adopt Regulations for the Sale of New Zero-Emission, Medium-Duty, and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Vote to pass a bill that requires the Department of the Environment adopt regulations for the sale of new zero-emission, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicles.
Requires the Department of the Environment, with consultation from the Department of Transportation adopt regulations for the sale of new zero-emission, medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles by December 1, 2023 (Sec. 1).
Defines “heavy-duty” as a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating over 14,001 lbs (Sec. 1).
Defines “medium-duty” as a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating of between 8,501 and 14,000 lbs (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the Department of Environment with consultation from the Department of Transportation to delay implementation of the aforementioned regulations by a year or more if the proposed plan is determined to be not yet feasible (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect June 1, 2023 (Sec. 2).
