Vote to pass a bill that expands voting rights of student member of Baltimore County Board of Education.

Highlights:

• Requires that before December 31, 2023, a workgroup made up of several members of the county board and the executive leadership of the Baltimore County Public School System develop a draft curriculum for budget training for student members of the county board and submit it to the county board for review (Sec. 1).

• Requires that the training for student members (Sec. 1):

• Focus on the operation and capital budget process of the county board; and

• Be facilitated by representatives of the Baltimore County Public School System’s Division of Business Services.

• Requires that each student complete the budget training within 2 months of their election to the county board in order to be eligible to vote on budgetary matters (Sec. 1).
