Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that requires institutions of higher education to develop a reproductive health services plan in consultation with students by August 1, 2024.

Highlights:

  • Requires each Public Senior high education institution to develop and implement a reproductive health services plan to provide at each university applicable to this act (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that the University of Baltimore will provide students with OTC contraception in lieu of these plans (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that the plan shall involve the following (Sec. 1): 

    • Access to all methods of FDA compliant contraception and 24 hour access to OTC contraception through the student health center or other means; 

    • Prevention and treatment services for STDs;

    • Abortion care services; 

    • Access to evidence based reproductive health Education Services provided by student health center 

    • Off campus referral to other health service providers including pharmacies (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that the institution shall update the health services plan each year and that the Maryland Department of Health shall provide assistance (Sec. 1).
