Title: Authorizes Hunting, Trapping, Or Fishing Licenses for Non-Resident Post-Secondary Students
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the issuing of hunting, trapping, and fishing license to post-secondary school students from out of state.
Requires that in addition to fees for a hunting license, each person who buys a hunting license must aso pay an intensive management surcharge for the purpose of providing funding for the intensive management of the state’s game population (Sec. 1).
Exempts a person eligible for a $5 resident hunting, rapping, and sport fishing license or a free license from payment of the surcharge imposed under this subsection (Sec. 1).
Requires that the surcharge amount attached to each license be clearly disclosed on the license (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a resident hunting license is $10 and a nonresident hunting license is $30 (Sec. 1).
Authorizes an individual enrolled as a half-time or full-time student at a postsecondary institution who does not qualify as a resident the ability to obtain a special nonresident postsecondary student license for sport fishing, hunting, and trapping by paying the fee for a resident who has an annual family household income above the most recent poverty guidelines for the state set by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (Sec. 2).
Authorizes the Department of Fish and Game the ability to adopt regulations necessary to implement the changes made by this Act (Sec. 3).
Authorizes Section 3 to take effect immediately after passage (Sec. 4).
Specifies that this Act takes effect January 1, 2024 (Sec. 5).
