Vote to pass a bill that increases funding for schools by weighting the financial need, removing tuition, and change the formula to fund towns.

Highlights:

• Specifies that minors who are not 5 years old on or before the first day of September of the current school year may be admitted upon a request by a parent or guardian and following an assessment of the child (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that for the fiscal year ending on June 30th of 2024, any school district that received a final priority school district grant shall receive a grant equivalent to the amount it received in the fiscal year ending on June 30th of 2023 (Sec. 7). 

•  Specifies that a school resource officer has duties concerning challenging behavior or conflict that escalates to violence or constitutes a crime (Sec. 10).

• Defines student aid index as the index used to determine eligibility for financial aid as computed from a students free application for federal student aid (Sec. 11).

• Specifies that the roberta B. Willis scholarship program shall include a need and meri-t based grant that shall be funded at no less than 20% but not more than 30% of available funds or 10 million dollars (Sec. 11).
