Vote to pass a bill that prohibits abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy with certain exceptions.

Highlights:

• Prohibits Medical professionals from conducting abortion procedures if a fetal heartbeat is detected except in the case of medical emergency or a fetal heartbeat exception (Sec. 2). 

• Specifies that in order to detect a fetal heartbeat a medical physician must conduct an abdominal ultrasound (Sec. 2). 

• Requires that following an abdominal ultrasound the pregnant woman will be informed if a heartbeat was detected and if it was then informed that an abortion will be prohibited (Sec. 2). 

• Specifies that a physician shall retain documentation of the following in a woman’s medical record (Sec. 2).
