Vote to adopt a conference report and pass a bill that requires vendors providing online resources or databases to K-12 schools block access to pornography.

Highlights:

• Requires vendors providing digital or online resources or databases to K-12 schools block and prohibit access to the following, including (Sec. 1):

• Child pornography;

• Materials that depict or promote child sexual exploitation or trafficking;

• Obscene materials, as defined by this bill;

• Inappropriate materials depicting or dealing with matters of sex, cruelty and violence in a manner likely to be injurious or harmful to a child; or

• Materials that are sexually oriented.

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take precedence over all other previous law (Sec. 1).

• Exempts internet service providers, and the use of digital or online resources or databases by students at institutions of higher education, or community college, including dual-enrolled students (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the state attorney general to investigate compliance with this bill and report on noncompliance to the legislature (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect July 1, 2023 (Sec. 4).
