Title: Establishes Updated Water Regulations for Arizona
Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that establishes new water regulations for Arizona.
Requires all cities and towns that provide water services to provide water service through an intergovernmental agreement with a standpipe district for water hauling to residents outside of the city or town for a period of no more than 3 years if the following applies, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
The number of impacted residents is not more than 750 residents or live in an unincorporated community within the standpipe district;
The city or town previously provided water service to the residents that do not have access to sufficient water;
There is no other adequate source of water for those individuals within 10 miles of their residence;
The city or town is reimbursed for the full reasonable costs of providing and delivering water; or
The impacted area is in a county with a population of more than 750,000 individuals.
Prohibits the aforementioned agreement to not interfere or reduce the amount of water services to the residents and businesses within the city or towns water service area (Sec. 1).
Authorizes the full payment of water services to cities or towns be directly or indirectly through one or more third parties (Sec. 1).
Specifies that a city or town is not liable to any individual or entity for providing or failing to provide water services (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this bill shall take effect after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 4).
