Title: Prohibits Certain Restrictions on Internal Accessory Dwelling Units
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits certain kinds of restrictions on internal accessory dwelling units or secondary residents.
Prohibits homeowner’s associations from banning internal accessory dwelling units (Sec. 1).
Specifies that homeowners associations may adopt rules and restrictions regarding internal accessory dwelling units concerning size, height limits, and other features (Sec. 1).
Specifies that an internal dwelling accessory unit does not include an alternative detached structure or unit, mobile home, motor home, RV, camper, or other detached dwelling (Sec. 1).
Specifies that nothing in this act prohibits Homeowners associations from adopting less restrictive definitions of accessory dwelling units (Sec. 1).
Exempts rentals from similar restrictions (Sec. 1).
Establishes that no restrictive covenants concerning internal accessory dwelling units shall be made after July 1st 2023 (Sec. 2).
Specifies that this does not apply to covenants made prior to July 1st 2023 (Sec. 2).
