Vote to pass a bill that increases the minimum age to buy tobacco and vape products from 18 to 21.

Highlights:

• Specifies that a person is committing a crime if they negligently sell or exchange tobacco with a minor under the age of 21 years of age  (Sec. 3). 

• Specifies that possession of tobacco, electronic smoking products, or any product containing nicotine by a person under the age of 21 is punishable by a fine of not more than $150 and time spent in a tobacco education program (Sec. 3). 

• Establishes the Tobacco Use Education and cessation fund with resources being deposited annually into the fund (Sec. 11). 

• Authorizes sales of tobacco or electronic smoking products to individuals who are over 21 years of age with their age being verified at the time of purchase by a third-party verification service or in the case of delivery is verified by the package carrier (Sec. 13).
