Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Highlights:

• Establishes 3 state health centers within the Pennsylvania State Department of Health and requires the department make a report to the general assembly reviewing the following, including (Sec. 1):

• A review of 3 health centers and provisions of equivalent services;

• A review of other delivery systems and health services in the community;

• A comparison of the cost and effectiveness of the operation; 

• Recommendations regarding continuation of the provision of services provide by the 3 health care centers; and

• Recommendations regarding the public and private operation of all remaining health care centers.

• Specifies that this bill shall take effect 60 days after passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 2).
