Vote to pass a bill that requires classification of student athletic teams based on their sex at birth.

Highlights:

  • Requires public schools and nonpublic schools provide classification of student athletic teams based on the following criteria, including (Sec. ):

    • Males, men, or boys;

    • Females, women, or girls; or

    • Coed or mixed.

  • Prohibits athletic teams or sports designated for females, women, or girls from being open to students of the male sex (Sec. 1).

  • Prohibits any state government entity, licensing or accrediting organzation, or an athletic association or organization from entertaining any compaint, or open any investigation, or take any other adverse action against a school for maintaining seperate interscholastic or intramural athletic teams or sports (Sec. 1).

  • Authorizes students deprived of an athletic opportunity or suffers direct or indirect harm as a result of this bill to have private cause of action for injunctive relief or damages against the school within 2 years of the harm having occured (Sec. 1).
