Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that establishes a state digital bill of rights to provider user data protections.

Highlights:

• Prohibits government-directed moderation of social media platforms (Sec. 1).

• Prohibits online platforms that predominantly accessed by children from doing the following (Sec. 2): 

• Processing the personal information of the child;

• Collect, sell, share, or retain  any personal information that is not necessary to the online service;

• Collect, sell, or share the geolocation data of children; and

• Use dark patterns to lead children to provide personal information.

• Establishes a $50,000 fine for each violation of the above protections (Sec. 2).

• Requires online platforms to be transparent to users about data sharing (Sec. 4).

• Requires online platforms to provide users with the option to opt out of data sharing (Sec. 4).
