Title: Establishes a State Digital Bill of Rights to Provide User Protections
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that establishes a state digital bill of rights to provider user data protections.
Prohibits government-directed moderation of social media platforms (Sec. 1).
Prohibits online platforms that predominantly accessed by children from doing the following (Sec. 2):
Processing the personal information of the child;
Collect, sell, share, or retain any personal information that is not necessary to the online service;
Collect, sell, or share the geolocation data of children; and
Use dark patterns to lead children to provide personal information.
Establishes a $50,000 fine for each violation of the above protections (Sec. 2).
Requires online platforms to be transparent to users about data sharing (Sec. 4).
Requires online platforms to provide users with the option to opt out of data sharing (Sec. 4).
