Vote to pass a bill that authorizes individuals in the business and health professions who are licensed in another state to work in Wisconsin under a preliminary credential while their application for a permanent credential is pending.

Highlights:

• Requires the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) to grant temporary state credentials to health care providers who are in good standing and licensed in another state (Sec. 1).

• Requires the health care provider apply for the temporary credential within 30 days of first providing services in the state (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this bill does not apply to credentials for trades occupations, transportation network companies, peddlers, unarmed combat sports, and body art and tanning facilities or credentials issued by another agency (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 1).
