Title: Prohibits Cities From Passing any Heat-Related Ordinances
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits cities and local governments from passing any heat-related ordinance.
Prohibits cities and local governments from adopting, enforcing, maintaining, or passing any heat-related ordinance, order, or rule regulating energy types (Sec. 5).
Specifies that any previously established rule or ordinance passed by any city or local government to be void and unenforceable and gives municipalities 3 months after receiving notice before being subject to penalties (Sec. 5).
Authorizes individual claimants to be entitled to injunctive relief from any municipality or local governments whose ordinance, order, or rule caused injury (Sec. 7).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill shall take effect September 1, 2023 (Sec. 17).
