Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the secretary of state to withhold funds from a registrar who fails to perform duties related to challenges to voter registration eligibility.
Authorizes the secretary of state to withhold funds from a state registrar if they do not accomplish their tasks in a timely manner including changes in voting registration and the scheduling of hearings (Sec. 1).
Specifies that if the registrar performs their duty no later than 30 days after the funds were initially withheld then they may receive the funds (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this act goes into effect September 1st 2023 (Sec. 2).
