    • Any participant of the sporting event is not authorized to participate in sports wagering for that event.

  • Establishes a license for accepting or offering sports wagers with the following application steps (Sec. 1):

    • Licensing fee of $1,000,000;

    • Submit a proposed business plan and internal controls; and

    • Submit a written information security program.

  • Establishes the following criminal and civil penalties for violating the Article (Sec. 1):

    • The suspension or revocation of a sports wagering license;

    • A monetary fine of no more than $10,000 for each violation;

    • A Class 2 misdemeanor for engaging in in sports wagering in violation;

    • A Class 2 misdemeanor for anyone under the age of 21 engaging in sports wagering;

    • A Class G felony for conspiring to influence the outcome of an event that has been wagered on; and

    • A Class I felony for providing false information on a sports wagering license.
