Title: Requires All New Home Construction Have Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
Vote to pass a bill that requires all new home construction to have electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Requires developers of all new home construction install electric vehicle infrastructure in all new single-family or multi-family residential home construction (Sec. 1).
Defines “electric vehicle” as the following, including (Sec. 1):
A plug-in hybrid vehicle, which operates an internal combustion engine and an electric motor; and
All electric-vehicles which operate solely from an internal electric battery.
Defines “single-family residential dwelling” as the following, including (Sec. 1):
An attached structure, such as townhouse or row home;
A detached structure, including a house.
Defines “multi-family residential dwelling” as the following, including (Sec. 1):
Apartment houses;
Congregate living facilities;
Boarding houses;
Convents;
Dormitories;
Fraternities and sororities;
Hotels
Live and work units;
Motels; and
Vacation timeshare properties.
Specifies that this bill shall become effective starting January 1, 2025 (Sec. 1).
