Title: Establishes Utah as a Second Amendment Sanctuary State
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the state of Utah as a second amendment sanctuary state.
Establishes the state of Utah as a second amendment sanctuary state and prohibits any federal regulation infringing on that constitutional right (Sec. 1).
Defines “federal regulation” as a federal executive order, rule, or regulation that infringes upon, prohibits, restricts, or requires individual licensure for registration of the purchase, ownership, possession, transfer, or use of a firearm, ammunition, or firearm accessory (Sec. 1).
Exempts any federal firearm statute or federal executive order, rule or regulation that is incorporated into Utah state code (Sec. 1).
Prohibits any law enforcement officer, state employee, or employee of a political subdivision from implenting, enforcing, assisting, or cooperating in the enforcement of any federal regulation of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition (Sec. 3).
Specifies that this bill shall take effect after passage and approval by the governor after having received ⅔ approval in both the state House and Senate (Sec. 4).
