Vote to pass a bill that requires health insurance companies provide reimbursement for mental health coverage.

Highlights:

• Defines “mental health or substance use disorder services” as professional services, including inpatient and outpatient services and prescription drugs, and prevention, treatment , talk therapy services (Sec. 35).

• Requires that all health insurance companies in the state of New Mexico provide coverage and reimbursement for all in-network mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorder services, including (Sec. 35-41):

• Psychiatry;

• Psychology;

• Social work;

• Clinical counseling;

• Addiction medicine and counseling; or

• Family and marriage counseling;

• Specifies that this bill shall take effect January 1, 2024 (Sec. 46).
