Title: Prohibits School Teachers and Employees from Using a Student's Preferred Pronouns
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits school teachers and employees from using a student's preferred pronouns.
Defines “employee” as an individual working in any capacity at a public school, whether paid or as a volunteer, including teachers, other school employees, school bus operators, extracurricular personnel, and independent contractors (Sec. 3).
Requires school teachers and employees use a students gender pronoun that is listed on their birth certificate and prohibits them from using a student's preferred pronoun unless the student’s parent provides written permission to do otherwise (Sec. 3).
Exempts any school teacher or employee from being required to use a students preferred pronoun if doing so is contrary to their religious or moral convictions (Sec. 3).
Authorizes parents to request a student transfer to another teacher if the current teacher objects to using a studen’ts pronoun (Sec. 3).
