Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that prohibits individuals of the opposite sex from using the same restroom with a child present.

Highlights:

• Amends previous law to prohibit individual adults of the opposite sex 18 and older from using the same restroom with a child present and specifies it as either a felony or class A misdemeanor depending on level of severity (Sec. 4).

• Exempts the following individuals and situations from the aforementioned provisions, including (Sec. 4):

• Individuals entering into or remaining in a public changing facility;

• Parents, family members, or guardians of a minor under 7 years of age;

• Inidividuals entering for maintenance or inspection purposes; or

• To render medical assistance or provide other assitance.

• Defines “public changing facility” as a restroom, bathroom, locker room, or shower room and specifies that it does not include private dressing areas open to the public designed for changing in and out of clothing for sale in a commercial establishment (Sec. 6).
