Title: Establishes Safety Standards for Carbon Monoxide Alarms in Childcare Centers
Vote to pass a bill that establishes safety standards for carbon monoxide alarms in child care centers and family child care homes.
Requires that all child care centers or family child care homes that utilize fossil-fuel-burning heater or appliance, fireplace or an attached garage have a centrally located and approved carbon monoxide alarm installed within the next 18 months (Sec. 4).
Authorizes the department to take action against a child care center or family child care home if they do not install a carbon monoxide detector (Sec. 5).
Requires the department to provide written notice of these requirements to each child care center or family child care home within 12 months (Sec. 6).
