Vote to pass a bill that amends the process by which public school districts are created.

Highlights:

• Amends previous laws to say that the governing body of a country shall have sole authority in determining school districts in a convenient way (Sec. 1). 

• Authorizes the district boundary board to have over all school districts in the state and joint districts in the state (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the district boundary board to make alterations and changes in the school districts in the manner specified by law. (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes the district boundary board to record any changes and submit them to the department of education (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes this change to go into effect post January 1st 2024 (Sec. 2).

• Authorizes the higher education coordinating commission shall make available to the public a record of any new changes to the school districts (Sec. 4).

• Requires this act to go into effect immediately when passed (Sec. 6).
