Vote to pass a bill that appropriates $1.5 billion to increase state spending for election and government agencies, change state flag, and committing its Electoral College votes to presidential candidates who win the national popular vote.
Appropriates $1.5 billion to increase state spending for election integrity and security costs and various government agency operating expenses (Sec. 1-2).
Increases funding for the public election subsidy, which promotes more candidates to take state campaign funds and reduce the influence of special interests groups (Sec. 5).
Requires state political parties have at least 10 percent of the popular vote in a statewide election in order to be considered a major party (Sec. 7).
Appropiates over $400 million over the next 2 years to fund the state legislature and various government IT departments (Sec. 10).
Establishes a State Emblems Redesign Commission to look into options to amend the details and imaging in the official state flag of Minnesota by January 1, 2024 (Sec. 52).
