Title: Reduces Student Second Language Requirements and Authorizes Teachers to Teach Multiple Subjects
Vote to pass a bill that reduces student second language requirements and authorizes teachers to teach multiple subjects.
Limits non-online school to 30 hours or 5 days of online instruction per school year (Sec. 1).
Repeals the previous requirement that applicants for a teacher librarian licensed in a public school district have a have a masters degree (Sec. 11).
Authorizes licensed teachers in public schools to instruct 2 or more multiple sequential units of subject in the same time period and in the same classroom (Sec. 14).
Repeals the previously required third and fourth years of second language and fine arts education as graduation requirements for students in primary and secondary public schools and reduces it down to 2 years beginning in the 2024 school year (Sec. 18).
