Vote to pass a bill that exempts certain jobs and training services from nurse licensure requirements.

Highlights:

• Specifies that existing law prohibits nurses from engaging in nursing practices if they aren't licensed by the State Board of Nursing (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that this law does not prohibit the following(Sec. 1): 

• Gratuitous nursing by friends or family members; 

• Incidental care by housekeepers or other staff of the patient; 

• Emergency nursing assistance; 

• The practice of nursing by those enrolled students enrolled in accredited schools of nursing or by graduates of those schools pending the results of the first licensing examination scheduled by the Board following graduation; 

• The practice of nursing by a nurse and/or nursing assistant accredited in another state that is treating a patient that must temporarily resign in the state; 

• Non-Medical nursing done to aid the sick done in adherence of religious practices and/por done in connection with a religious organization; 

• The practice of nursing by a legally qualified nurse of another state who is employed by the United States Government; 

• Services by a personal assistance to aid an individual with a disability. 

• Specifies that this law does not prohibit a natural person from providing support services if (Sec. 1):  

• That person has been issued the proper certification; and 

• The person is employed by an organization that has been issued the proper certification. 

• Amends previous law to allow a natural person to provide jobs and day training services if (Sec. 1):

• That person has been issued the proper certification; and 

• The person is employed by an organization that has been issued the proper certification.
