Vote to pass a bill that appropriates funds for the 2023-2024 fiscal year budget.

Highlights:

• Appropriates the following amounts of funds for various department and agency costs for the 2023-2024 fiscal year general budget, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Legislative, Judicial, and Executive Department expenditures as follows:

• $5.95 million for the Senate;

• $9.9 million for the House of Representatives;

• $10.24 million for joint expenses;

• $154.43 million for state Supreme Court; and

• $6.49 million for the Governors office and $8.5 million for the Civil Contingent Fund.

• General Government Adminstration expenses:

• $2.57 million for the state Auditor Office;

• $3.57 million for the state Treasurer Office;

• $13.29 million for the Department of Agriculture and $1.12 million for the departments Meat Inspection Fund;

• $11.4 million for the West Virginia Conservation Agency;

• $5.5 million for the state Attorney General;

• $15.6 million for the Office of Secretary of State;

• $38.1 million for state Public Defender Services;

• $30.23 million for the Department of Natural Resources;

• $7 million for the Department of Tourism;

• $27.76 million for the Department of Economic Development;

• $1.88 billion for the Department of Education; and

• $844.75 million for the Department of Health and Human Services.

• Specifies that this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage and approval by the governor (Sec. 18).
