Title: Requires That Public School Restrooms Be Separated by Sex
Vote to amend and pass a bill that requires that public school restrooms be separated by sex.
Requires that “a public school student attending [an] overnight trip is required to share sleeping quarters with a member of the same sex” (Page 1).
Requires public school districts and open-enrollment public charter schools to designate multiple occupancy restrooms as exclusively male-use or exclusively female-use, based on students’ original birth certificates (Page 2).
Requires that such schools “Provide a reasonable accommodation to an individual who is unwilling or unable to use a multiple occupancy restroom or changing area designated for the individual's sex” (Page 2).
Requires that allegations of noncompliance be directed to Professional Licensure Standards Board; establishes minimum fine of $1,000 (Page 3).
Authorizes lawsuits by parents/guardians (Page 4).
