Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) education concepts in public schools.

Highlights:

• Specifies that “A teacher, administrator or other employee of a school district or state agency who is involved with students and teachers in grades preschool through the twelfth grade shall not use public monies for instruction that presents any form of blame or judgment on the basis of race, ethnicity, sex, color or national origin” (Page 2).

• Prohibits teaching “That a person, by virtue of the sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color or national origin attributed to that person, is inherently responsible for actions committed in the past by other members of the same (or any other) sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color or national origin” or “That a person, by virtue of the sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, or national origin attributed to that person is inherently racist, sexist or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously” (Page 2-3).

• Authorizes “The discussion of otherwise controversial aspects of history, only if done so by presenting, from a holistic point of view, a complete and accurate perspective of the subject matter or prism” (Page 4).

• Requires disciplinary action against violating teachers or administrators (Page 5).

• Authorizes lawsuits by district attorneys and aggrieved persons (Page 6).

• Establishes effective date of July 1, 2022 (Page 12).
