Title: Authorizes Medical Marijuana Patients to Possess Firearms
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes medical marijuana patients to possess firearms.
Establishes that a person who is not otherwise prohibited by this bill shall not not be prohibited from owning, possessing, or controlling a deadly weapon or ammunition for a firearm within this state solely based on their status as a registered qualifying patient (Sec. 1).
Establishes that a registered qualifying patient is not subject to arrest, prosecution, or denial of any right or privilege for the medical use of marijuana if the registered qualifying patient does not possess more than 6 ounces of usable marijuana (Sec. 2).
Specifies that if a state funded law enforcement agency encounters an individual who credibly asserts that they are a registered cardholder, the law enforcement agency may not provide any information from any marijuana-related investigation of the person to any law-enforcement authority (Sec. 2).
