Title: Repeals "Red Flag" Gun Law
Vote to pass a bill that repeals the "red flag" gun law.
Specifies that the restrictions of who can obtain a concealed handgun permit exclude individuals (Pg. 2):
released from commitment within 5 years of trying to obtain the permit or;
subject to a restraining order or;
Who have been convicted of two or more misdemeanors within the past 5 years or;
Addicted to the unlawful use or distribution of marijuana or any controlled substance or;
Convicted of a violation of public drunkenness, assault, or stalking or;
Who are aliens lawfully permitted to live in the United States or;
Who have been discharged from the military due to dishonorable discharge or;
Who have received mental health or substance abuse treatment within 5 years of trying to obtain the permit.
Establishes that any individual who sells, barters, or gives a firearm to any person who they know is prohibited from possessing such a handgun is guilty of a Class 4 felony (Pg. 2).
Requires that a criminal background check must be done on employees of gun dealers in order to transfer firearms (Pg. 7).
