Vote to concur with House amendments to pass a bill that establishes online requirements for dating apps, training for domestic violence, and a grant for online abuse.

Highlights:

• Requires online dating operators to notify Connecticut users regarding criminal background checks (Page 2).

• Requires such operators to provide safety awareness notifications on platform, including statements similar to “Use caution when communicating with a stranger who wants to meet you”, etc (Page 3).

• Authorizes fines up to $25,000 per operator violation (Page 4).

• Establishes grant program “to provide educational and training opportunities with the goal of preventing online abuse and informing individuals about identifying, reporting, responding to and avoiding online abuse” (Page 5).
