Vote to pass a bill that amends Delaware Code to cap prices on diabetes equipment and supplies.

Highlights:

• Prohibits an individual health insurance policy from charging said individual more than $35 per month for diabetic equipment and supplies, regardless of the amount or types of supplies (Sec. 1). 

• Establishes diabetic equipment and supplies are: (Sec. 1).

• Blood glucose meters and strips;

• Urine testing strips;

• Syringes;

• Continuous glucose monitors and supplies; and 

• Insulin pump supplies. 

• Establishes the $35 per month cap includes deductible payments and cost-sharing amounts charged once a deductible is met, except the cap does not apply to deductible payments charged by high deductible health plans or catastrophic health plans (Sec. 1). 

• Established section 1 to apply to all policies, contracts, or certificates issued, renewed, modified, altered, amended, or 25 reissued after December 31, 2023 (Sec. 1).
