Title: Amends Education Law to Prevent Opioid Overdoses on College Campuses
Vote to pass a bill that amends education law to prevent opioid overdoses on college campuses.
Establishes that every campus on a state university shall provide training in the administration of opioid antagonists to all residence assistants on campus (Sec. 1).
Specifies that state campuses shall provide and maintain a quantity of opioid antagonists defined by the commissioner of health (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the opioid antagonists shall be accessible by any residence assistant for emergency use during a suspected opioid overdose by any individual, regardless of any history of opioid abuse or lack thereof, on college owned housing (Sec. 1).
Establishes that state campuses may designate additional employees who volunteer to administer opioid antagonists in the event that a residence assistant is not present at a suspected overdose incident, provided that such employee is trained to administer opioid antagonists (Sec. 1).
Specifies that any person acting reasonable or in good faith in response to a suspected overdose shall not be subject to criminal, civil, or administrative liability (Sec. 1).
