Highlights:

• Defines the bill as the “Kratom Consumer Protection Act” (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that any dealer who prepares, distributes, sells, or exposes for sale a food that is a kratom product must disclose so on the product label (Sec. 1).

• Establishes that a dealer shall not prepare, distribute, sell, or expose for sale any of the following (Sec. 1):

• A kratom product that is adulterated or contaminated with a dangerous non-kratom substance;

• A kratom product containing 7-hydroxymitragynine as more than 2 percent in the alkaloid fraction; or

• A kratom product that does not include on its package or label the amount of mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine contained in the product.
