Vote to adopt a conference resolution that establishes a mechanism for drug offenders to seek relief from the Kansas Offender Registration Act.
Defines as “sex offender”: anyone who “is convicted of breach of privacy, as defined in K.S.A. 2022 Supp. 21-6101(a)(6), (a)(7) or (a)(8), and amendments thereto” (Page 8).
Defines as “sexually violent crime”: “internet trading in child pornography or aggravated internet trading in child pornography, as defined in K.S.A. 2021 Supp. 21-5514, and amendments thereto” (Page 9).
Requires lifetime offender registration for persons convicted of aggravated internet trading in child pornography, if victim less than 14 years of age (Page 14).
Authorizes drug offenders to petition for relief from offender registration requirements (Page 16).
