Title: Prohibits Premature Release of an Individual who has Committed a Violent Offense while Imprisoned
Vote to concur with senate amendments and pass a bill that prohibits premature release of an individual who has committed a violent offense while imprisoned.
Amends Title 61 to include “obstruction of justice offense” as relating to the following (Page 2):
Intimidation of witnesses or victims;
Retaliation against witnesses or victims;
Retaliation in child abuse cases;
Escape or weapons; and
Contraband.
Amends Title 61 to include “violent offense” as the following crimes (Page 2):
Criminal homicide;
Assaults;
Strangulation and rape;
Sexual assault;
Arson; and
Riots.
Prohibits for 24 months the release of a paroled person convicted of a violent offense (Page 3).
Prohibits for 12 months the release of a paroled person convicted of an obstruction of justice offense (Page 3).
