Prohibits public schools from using Native American names, symbols, or images as schoolmascots, logos, or team names beginning January 1, 2022 (Sec. 2).
Exempts public schools that are located partly or wholly within “Indian country” or public schools in a county that contains all or part of a tribal reservation, if the tribes having regulatory jurisdiction have been consulted and informed of the school name and authorize its use (Sec. 2).
