Highlights:

• Establishes requirements for controllers and processors of the personal data of consumers (Pg. 1).

• Establishes the following rights to consumers regarding their personal data, including (Pg. 1):

• Confirming whether a controller is processing the consumer’s personal data and access to the personal data;

• Correcting inaccuracies in the consumer’s personal data;

• Obtaining a copy of the personal data that the consumer previously provided tothe controller; and

• Opting out of the processing of the consumer’s personal data for targeted advertising.

• Defines “controller” as an individual that alone or jointly with others, determines the purpose and means of processing personal data (Pg. 1).

• Requires controllers respond to consumers’ requests to invoke their rights under this bill without undue delay, and if the controllers declines to take action, inform the consumer of their justification (Pg. 1).
