Title: Establishes the Crime of Interference with Emergency Communications
Vote to pass a bill that establishes the crime of interference with emergency communications.
Establishes the crime of interference with emergency communications and specifies violations shall result in a class A misdemeanor or class C felony if interference results in serious physical injury or death of a person and the individual was convicted of 2 or more seperate occassions of interference with emergency communications (Sec. 1).
Defines “interferance with emergency communications” as the following, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
Making repeated calls to emergency communcations to report a previously reported incident with no change in circumstance;
Making repeated emergency communications knowing there is not a police, fire, or medical emergency;
Uses obscene language during emergency communications with intent to inimidate or harass an emergency communications worker; or
Interferes with, blocks, or otherwise disrupts communications between an emergency communications worker and police, fire, or medical service personnel with intent to cause a disruption in service.
