Vote to pass a bill that increases police whistleblower protections.

Highlights:

• Prohibits any police employee from being discharged, demoted, suspended, threatened, harassed, or discriminated against in any manner in the terms and conditions of their employment because of any lawful act engaged in by the employee or on behalf of the employee in the furtherance of any action taken to report malfeasance in office by police employees to law enforcement (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a police employee to bring an action for relief against their employer in court of competenet jurisdiction for damages associated with any action taken by the employee which is in the furtherance of reporting malfeasance in office (Sec. 1).
