Title: Repeals Limit on the Number of Prenatal Tests State Programs May Provide Per Patient

Vote to pass a bill that repeals the limit on the number of prenatal tests state programs may provide per patient.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires the Department of Public Health to develop criteria for eligibility for the prenatal testing program, and develop an education program for physicians and surgeons regarding the uses and availability of the prenatal testing program (Sec. 1.a-b).

  • Increases the prenatal screening fee to $40 dollars (Sec. 2).

  • Prohibits the department from limiting the number of tests an accredited laboratory may provide on a person who has an order from a prenatal car provider, opted out of the prenatal screening program, or chosen to have additional tests as  a part of the program (Sec. 1.h).
