Title: Authorizes and Regulates the Sale of Medical Marijuana
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes and regulates the sale of medical marijuana.
Repeals penalties for marijuana distribution, use or possession for medical marijuana businesses, medical marijuana business inspection agencies, and qualified patients (Sec. 2).
Establishes the Division of Medicinal Cannabis to implement, operate, oversee and regulate medical marijuana programs (Sec. 3).
Prohibits use of medical marijuana while operating a vehicle, in a workplace/professional setting, or at a school (Sec. 6).
Prohibits discrimination in education, employment, or housing against medical marijuana users (Sec. 8).
Requires practitioners to obtain a license from the state to prescribe medical marijuana and specifies the prescription process (Sec. 9).
Requires individuals who have been prescribed medical marijuana to undergo a consultation with a pharmacist (Sec. 9).
Requires individuals who have been prescribed medical marijuana to apply for and carry a registry identification card (Sec. 11).
Requires medical marijuana businesses to obtain a license from the state (Sec. 15).
Establishes operations regulations for medical marijuana businesses (Sec. 18).
Authorizes counties to pass local regulations on marijuana use, including prohibiting medical marijuana businesses from operating within county lines (Sec. 26).
Specifies conditions that would make an individual eligible to apply for a medical marijuana registry identification card (Sec. 28).
Authorizes insurers to refuse to cover medical marijuana expenses (Sec. 29).
Establishes the medical cannabis trust fund to cover the costs of administering the medical marijuana program (Sec. 31).
