Vote to pass a bill that requires an annual electric vehicle use fee.

Highlights:

• Establishes the following road usage fees for electric and hybrid vehicles, including  (Sec. 1, Part II-A):

• $110 per year for electric vehicles; and

• $60 per year for hybrid vehicles.

• Defines “electric vehicle” as a vehicle which is powered by one or more electric motors or energy stored in rechargeable batteries for propulsion (Sec. 1).

• Defines “hybrid vehicle” as a vehicle that uses gasoline, diese, fuel, or special fuels in combination with an electric motor for propulsion (Sec. 1).

• Requires that the aforementioned road usage fees be paid by May 15, each calendar year to the Department of Transportation (Sec. 1).

• Establishes that the provisions of this act shall take effect January 1, 2023 (Sec. 2).
