Highlights:

 

  • Prohibits school branding containing stereotypes, traditions, or other characteristics associated with (Sec. 2):

    • The race, creed, color, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity of a group of people; or

    • Any group associated with the repression of others.

  • Authorizes individuals to file a complaint with the local school board if they believe school branding to be discriminatory, and to escalate to the Department of Education if unsatisfied with the local school board’s response (Sec. 2).

  • Requires that all schools adopt a nondiscriminatory school branding policy (Sec. 2).
