Title: Prohibits Gender Confirmation Treatment for Individuals Under 18

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits gender confirmation treatment for individuals under 18.

Highlights:

 

  • Prohibits gender confirmation treatment for individuals under 18 and specifies that individuals found to have engaged in the practice, or helped a minor leave the state for gender confirmation treatment guilty of a felony, and imprisoned for a term of no more than life (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that gener confirmation treatment shall include, but not be limited to, surgeries on a minor altering their biological sex or steralizing reproductive organs, and adminstering the following types of medication (Sec. 1):

    • puberty blocking medications that stop or delay normal puberty;

    • supraphysiological doses of testosterone to a female; or

    • supraphysiological doses of estrogen to a male.

  • Exempts cases of medically verifiable genetic disorders from the aforementioned prohibitions (Sec. 1).

  • Establishes that this act shall take effect January 1, 2023 (Sec. 2).
